Hey, im making a new page, at www.jakeboyles.com if you look at my logo it has a white border around the letters, because it has a transparent background, i saved it as a gif under the save to web option, is there a way to save this without the white markers.

it looks like theres a drop shadow on the text. Gifs dont support mid transparencies only 100% transparent use Png and use the HTC hack.

you can't have mid transparencies on gifs, so what is happening with your anti-alias text is that it is using white as a base colour to blend the text to, thus when it is on any background other than white you see the white lines.

 

Best way to solve this if you are using photoshop to save using web options, but when that has popped up you will see an option called matte, click on the arrow next to this and click on background...then click on the colour box next to it and change the colour to a near or exact colour of the background it will be placed on. The background will still be transparent but rather than making the anti-alias text default to white it will blend to a better colour. Then save it

The only real foolproof way of doing it is to construct it with the same background as that it's going on i.e. green.

Transparencies don't work.

So when you are happy with your header colour, redo your logo with appropriately coloured background.

I was going to suggest the same - but a fireworks alternative...best to export it on either a transparent background or the colour the text is going to be placed on.
