"SEO" can't optimise a template based site!

Featured Replies

I thought I'd heard it all. Today I get an enquiry from someone running a shopping cart site that runs on HTML templates (plus their normal content of course). That's no surprise since most cart systems run using the same methods, however, their SEO company is saying that they cannot do their work because they don't know how to work with template based sites and cannot optimise the site properly!

The cart in question already has everything one would need to optimise a sites content, customisable page titles, product descriptions, meta tag fields plus as many custom fields as you need.

Sounds like a dodgy SEO outfit, rather than a genuine one?

Wouldn't it just! I haven't heard back from the enquirer so they've probably found someone else to work with, my guess is that they gone to a "cheap SEO" and are getting what they paid for :)
