Hi, The site design wise looks good layout aint to bad either. Things i would change there seems to be abit to much white space , the pink background is a very light shade and i can hardly see it. Personally i would made it abit darker so the main area on contents stands out more.

 

Anyone agree?

It wasn't immediately obvious to me what the site was about. On first look it appeared to be some sort of community/local listings site but then you're trying to sell me a CMS as well - confusing.

 

"Search over 160 local dining menus" - local to where? I'm viewing from the UK so getting food from Santa Cruz is a bit silly - (it will be cold by the time it get here!)

 

I think you need to re-evalute the focus of the site, make it obvious who your target audience is (ie people living in or near Santa Cruz).

The site lacks focus, and is way too confusing.

 

One thing the modern day web experience allows is is lots of real-estate due to large resolution screens (anyone remember having to be restricted to an 640x480 display?).

 

However, just because we HAVE the space available, why fill it?

 

Less is more.

 

Be a little bit more generous with a lot less. Get rid of all the options, and break down your services wiseley. And loose the Adwords etc. Perhaps on your inner pages they will benefit, but on your landing page, they further confuse a punter.

 

Being honest, it broke the 11 second rule: that was, I couldn't decide which link to click after 11 seconds, so I didn't even move on into your site.
