I want to use Flash on a clients site, but the thing is most of his clients are aged between 40 and 70. I am thinking some wouldn't have flash installed, and most of them will be using IE6.

 

How do I replace a flash element with a static image if the page viewer doesn't have adobe flash player installed?

An example of where I have seen this is adobe.com on their main page.

Use SWFobject - http://code.google.com/p/swfobject/ - to serve up the Flash animations, you can specify alternative for when Flash player is not present
