Design. Which one do you think works better?

Featured Replies

Hey

I got a few different designs i've been working on today but want to get your feedback on which you prefer or if you have an y ideas on how to improve them?

Both are for the same site, for now it will be 1 single landing page. once the viewer fills in there details they get brought to a logged in section (yet to be designed)

what do u think anyways

Both look very nice but I perfer the second one. I think it does a good job of leading the visitors eye from the header to the signup form, hopefully leading to conversions.

I also prefer the second design..

You could try adding a subtle gradient to your header so it fits in better with the rest of your page, just a thought.

Nice work ;)

Sounds like I'm the only one who likes the first one then! I just think the first one is brighter, and having the photo nearer the top makes it more appealing than the second one which has quite a lot of darkness in it what with the grey bar and signup panel. On the other hand, the second design will make better use of the screen realestate, so maybe you could combine the two approaches and replace the grey bar with a photo instead? Just a thought!

ok, so its 3-2 to the second version. anyone else like to critic the sites? maybe giev some pointers on how to improve either of them? ideas to incorporate some jquery etc?

My first thought was that it was for Vodaphone, which it doesn't appear to be - this may confuse people.

Both designs are good but the headers need tidying up. You need to work on the line up of elements.

Of the two, the first one has it, though both have good elements and issues.

I too prefer the first design. I do quite like how the Sign Up box stands out more in the second though, so maybe you could combine that into the first design, although I'd agree with earlier comments about there being too much grey in the second. Maybe have that section with a white background too, but some sort of shadow. Just a thought.

Both look really good to me, but I do prefer the first overall. Bright and clean looking and nice layout.

My first thought was that it was for Vodaphone.

I also thought that at first. I think it's due to the red colour in the image header. Vodafone have done a good job of marketing that colour to be "their brand" when paired with a mobile phone image. Perhaps you could change that to not make the visitor think "vodafone".

With regards to the designs, I prefer the second one. It looks much more inviting and less 'generic' than the first :)

The second design is easily the best, and most importantly I think it'll generate the most customers, because as the first poster said it really does draw your eyes to the signup form.

They did also remind me of vodaphone, however the second one less so. I also felt the second design was a cleaner design and displayed the information much better. Also the sign up jumps out the page, the first option doesn't jump out as much.

I'd still say the first one, you have broken up the text into smaller readable chunks and the overall design has more breathing space. The floating 'sign me up' box looks a bit disjointed floating in the air like that, although it seems to fit better on your latest post.
