August 16, 200916 yr hey i have bein doing some work on my portfolio site over the weekend. i still have a few more sites to add to the site plus need to finish off the footer and a few pages etc. what ya's think? http://www.alanpower.net/slider.php Cheers
August 16, 200916 yr Very nice site. What is the script you are using? The colour scheme is very clean and calming. The only thing I would suggest is that when you click on one of the porfolio work, that it opens in a new browser window instead of the light box effect. Saying that it still does a good job.
August 16, 200916 yr Author Its just a jquery script. yeah, i think i'll get rid of the lightbox on the web work. my problem is htough that some of my work is not online so i just have images up. might just use the lightbox for sites not online. cheers
August 17, 200916 yr Your site isn't coherent. Your menu doesn't fit to another part of your site. It's look you stick it, because you had to have menu. Generally some of your works look better than your portfolio.
August 17, 200916 yr Nice site, I like it a lot! The bold font and white on black scheme shows off your work effectively and the information is clearly laid out. It will certainly impress prospective clients! On another note, what script are you using for your tooltip if you don't mind me asking?
August 17, 200916 yr I like it, but here's just my thoughts. The menu effect was a tad disorientating, if you faded the others out it'd probably be better (and look proper swish ) The slider could do with better easing, it looks a little sluggish. The slider seems buggy? It seems to randomly skip sections if you start going back and forwards. Some of your tool tips have the bottom left corner missing When you get to either end, the button should disappear, or have a disable state, or just loop it back round. This on your light box disorientates me as well '8 9 10 11 12 13 14 1 2 3' Your send button seems out of line slightly That's all i got though Overall it's pretty swish.
August 17, 200916 yr Looks really nice. Something I would change, though, would be in the footer where you say "If you have not already noticed how important the internet can be for your business I think its time you opened your eyes." To me, "...I think its time you opened your eyes" sounds a bit brusque, I would be tempted to change to something like "If you have not already noticed how important the internet can be for your business, open your eyes."
August 17, 200916 yr Author yeah, true. to be honest i am gonna rewrite the whole site. it needs me to site down and actually think about what im gonna put in it. i prefer the design side of things rather than the content which may be my downfall!
August 18, 200916 yr Very nice site. What is the script you are using? The colour scheme is very clean and calming. I think the fact that he has the live site in the lightbox and not just a jpeg is quite cool. I love it when people put a twist on the norm. I love the site. I'd be impressed if I were a client
August 18, 200916 yr Looks good! Problem: The whole thing is supposed to fade at the sides, right? Except when you slide the content, there's a clear edge where the content is disappearing on one side, and re-appearing on the other. I'd make a fade.png, and fit that on both sides of the slider's container, so that work fades in and out, and keeps with the theme you've got.
August 18, 200916 yr What's with the Thundercat's favico? Couldn't see any info on their about you...
August 18, 200916 yr Author did ya not hear??? Thundercats are go! i still ahve to work up the content side of things. the index page as a large black area under the banner that im gonna put in some info about myself and maybe latest and up & coming work. still have a few sites to be uploaded. (which means i will need to drop a few of my older sites)
