Reviews and Feedback Please

This is what I've been doing the last couple of days www.rscdev.co.uk/ami. I'm still awaiting quite a lot of copy and I still need to do the video on the home page (so clicking it won't do anything as it's just an image for now). Also no SEO has been done as yet other than what I do as I;m building it.

Can I please have some feedback before the client sees it?

Cheers

Adam

Your hit area for your navigation on the left is a bit small, you have to click exactly on the text to make the link work, which is annoying. stretch it out a bit so the whole button you hover over makes the link work. Your footer text needs a bit of space underneath it, its squashed right at the bottom. Apart from that nice clean code!

Huh?! I posted feedback this morning - what the hell happened!! lol

Ok to re-itterate.

Love the left hand nav - hate the logo, maybe make it 25% smaller so it is no so eye-catching. Also, the main nav looks a little plain and boring next to the cool, blur effect of the sub nav.

Good work overal; I like it a lot :)

EDIT: Ah I see this has been posted here too: http://www.webdesignerforum.co.uk/topic/25137-please-review-my-site-so-far/ which is where i commented - weird... did you mean to post it twice or was that a forum bug?

Thanks for the info, I'll stretch out the clickable area to fill the button and I've added a 20px gap at the bottom of the footer. Are you using a widescreen monitor as the bottom of the footer was nowhere near the bottom of my screen?

Hi sorry for the mix up, I posted this post last week, however it kept saying it had no views and it was faded out in light grey compared to the rest of the posts in the forum. I didn't know if it could be viewed by others for whatever reason. I reposted for reviews this morning and that had a few views where this one still had none, it now has loads so I'm not sure what happened.

This should now be done but I've not tested it in different browsers yet, off to do that now.

Thanks once again.

ah that'll explain it - no worries and deffo no need for an apology :)

It still needs some margin space at the bottom of the T: F: E: part of the footer - needs some space under there.

Nice site :)

Quite like the site, but basic errors in spelling such as "Your" for "You're" need to be addressed to make it 100% professional.

Thanks, I was provided with the copy from the clients old site so it was a copy and paste job. I'll have our copywriter go through it before it goes live.

There is 20px at the moment, how much would you suggest?

It doesn't need too much more - try 27px :)

Just needs to add a tiny bit of space for wider browsers

haha - 27px might not be spot on - so don't quote me on it :D lol

Lovely site though - much better than their old one!! Eurgh!! lol

I like it, very clean and easy to use

I especially like the left nav with the blurred image underneath, I might have to try that ;)

the hover effect on the left nav isnt working in IE6, I think because it is applied to a li property and IE6 only renders it on links only (I think) so: a.leftnav:hover instead of #leftnav li:hover

On top of stevo's comment.

If you apply the spacing/dimensions to the a element instead of the li, it gives a larger clickable area which is never a bad thing, Especially with people who lack hand eye co-ordination.

Overall it's looking swish (my new fave. word) :)

I'm on 1024x768
