Help with IE

Featured Replies

Hi, I use Firefox, However when I view my site in IE7 everything below the heading is way off to the right. The thing is when I preview it in IE7 through Dreamweaver everything is OK. Ive only just puplished it so its not coming up some search engines yet. The best way to view it is www.treesculpting.co.uk then go to the "aardesign" link then the link for the "henrytudorhotel". Everything is OK in Firefox it is just IE. Can anyone sort my problem out for me please? Thanking you

Shedhead.

Well, first of all, you need to sort this out:

<div id="tophouseleft"><alt="picture of house" width="300" height="215" </div>

<div id="tophouseright"><alt="picture of house" width="300"height="215" </div>

You can use an alt tag if you have the image as a background, and <alt> is even an attribute. Use images or delete that.

If you create a container and set it to a desired width around the content it should work:

The css for this would look like:

#container{width:900px; margin: 0 auto;}

You would need to remove the absolute positioning from your current divs.

You could have also just put the domain of the page - www.aardesign.co.uk/home09.html - instead of having us click through the sites!

Let me know how you get on.

Another alternate method is to have different stylesheet for IE. You can achieve this by adding the following code before the </head> tag.

<!--[if IE]>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="ie-only.css" />
<![endif]-->
