August 10, 200917 yr My contract is available for upgrade in a couple of weeks, and I'm thinking of getting the Nokia E71. Just wondering if anyone on here has ever used on and if they are any good? Alternatively can any recommend anything else? Cheers Mark
August 10, 200917 yr At least it's quite popular here in Finland, I know many happy users. I'm using the previous version Nokia E61i and quite happy with it because I like to write texts with the QWERTY. I think E71 has also GPS and a better camera. Build quality is very good. Symbian OS is not so fabulous (occasional hangups) and that's why I'm waiting for a Android (e.g. http://phandroid.com/) phone with QWERTY keyboard + touchscreen.
August 11, 200917 yr Author Just had a look at the HTC Hero. It does look like a nice phone, but it's not available on 3. My actual contract doesn't end while December, but I'm entitled to a free upgrade next week. It's whether I wait till December and get what I want or get the E71 now. I would like an iPhone, but I think the prices they are charging are absolutely extortionate! The new nokia n97 looks great, but I'd have to pay £150 for the phone, the E71 is free. I need some more help advice!
August 16, 200917 yr I have the Nokia E71 and it does everything you need it to do, the camera quality for a 3.2mp isn't bad neither. Battery life can last for about 2 days, only think is that it doesn't stay connected to your mailbox like how a Blackberry would. The QWERTY keyboard is a good size too I hope that helps, if you have any other questions about the E71 let me know.
August 22, 200917 yr One alternative could be Nokia N900 (actual name not confirmed), the the first Maemo-based phone: http://www.mobile-review.com/review/nokia-rx51-n900-en.shtml Should probably be out in September and I'm quite excited because I've my N800 Intenet Tablet has worked nicely. Of course it's bigger than N71 but 182 grams shouldn't be too bad to carry.
October 9, 200916 yr Looked at getting the N71 but choose to get the blackberry storm.. Excellent phone. Saying that i would still like to get a N71 as well as i know a lot of friends that rate the phone.
