Please, review my first website

Featured Replies

Hello!

This is my first website ever made:

noartistname.com

Would you be so kind to review it? I've been doing it for about 2 weeks. I didn't use any templates - all design was made by me and I was trying to make minimal website. I've only used jQuery for slider effect and Vanilla with Texpattern for forum and blog (that doesn't have to do anything with main website).

I'm also trying to develop easy-series forum, blog and other web stuff, if you're interested to help me with it, I'll appreciate it. I'm also looking forward to make freelancer's community in future. Drop me a line.

Thanks in advance,

Aleks.

well, it certainly is minimalist. My initial reaction was "wheres the rest of the site" It really does feel empty and half-done (IMO anyway)

I like the scroll but wont' help you get found (SEO-wise).

On the whole, I ike the idea. But I wonder if, just to make it look more 'finished', you could use a nice font for the "noartistname.com" at the top, nothing over the top, just something neat and classy.

Maybe also use something just a little styled on the navigation. Or, use a very slightly smaller font size on the navigation and space it out a tiny bit, I think it looks almost clumsy as it is.

Hi!

Thanks for your reviews and critics. I really appreciate it! I will try to follow your advices - I will work on menu (probably add some padding or margin to it) and I will see what to do with background and heading on the top. But I'd like to keep main idea as it it.

Regards,

Aleks.

i will say the layout is not bad. Just need to add something to make it more interesting. At the moment it's so simple. More color and graphic.

Hi there, it's a nice looking site you've made. I disagree with the people who said it looks empty; I'm finding it quite refreshing actually. The only suggestion I have is to increase the line spacing in the body text, to make it a little easier to read.

Good use of space and I can't fault your taste in music ;) BUT...it needs something to lift the pages. I think the suggestion from cinnamondm on sprucing up the menu a little bit is a good one. Just to give the page a little contrast, to make it more exciting. Very good first try though, well done :p

love the site. Very nice indeed. I would try and keep the content within the orange boxes though. Just a thought! :)

Your site looks messy. You had use to many fonts. Three in top and another one in menu. It's definatelly too much like for me. Top is in general to messy too. You have somethink like grass, flower( is it standard special brush from ps?) and sun, and your site is about music and webdesign so I don't understand this. Scissors should less visible - imo of course.

Generally your site doesn't look like webdesign portfolio. Sorry, but you should try more, if you want have any order.
