November 10, 200718 yr I've just been messing around in Fireworks to create a simple but nice logo for my Ebay Shop. I didn't want it to rely on a set colour sceme, I want to be able to change it every few weeks which I can do by just altering the glow colour on it. I know its pretty basic but any thoughts on it?
November 10, 200718 yr I like it its a nice logo, but me being the perfectionist that I am there is one thing that I don't like and I am estimating it at being about 7 pixels of space. 7 pixels I here you scream. Well really its just an alignment problem, if you take where the G ends and run a straight line down it goes through the K....so move the k to the left a bit so that the end of the G and the end of the k line up, and it will sit a lot nice and the K won't look wrong. Yes I know its not out by much but seriously it will look much better if it was a straight line.
November 10, 200718 yr I would say to but your text, nothing behing it(the blue shadow and box). Take rectangular tool and start from the top left of the UK then go to the... **** off imma show you lol Looks gay now but with layers effects it will be great for sure, keep your font with those effect, remove blue shadow and maybe bring some effect to the rectangle
November 11, 200718 yr Author Ok I made changes to it and took Dizi's and kenv's advice on board... heres the new one.
November 11, 200718 yr That's looking better. All though I personally find that gradient in the blue area too strong.
November 11, 200718 yr Author Yeh I don't like the blue bit myself.. im playing with it at the minute. How do you do the shine sort of effect? I.e. where it looks like light hitting it from above?
November 11, 200718 yr Author I like that, where did you get the metal texture? It's just a texure within Fireworks New revision:
November 11, 200718 yr Yeh I don't like the blue bit myself.. im playing with it at the minute. How do you do the shine sort of effect? I.e. where it looks like light hitting it from above? The glass look of mostly just a white transparent band. I often just add a inner glow layer effect in photoshop, set Blend Mode to Screen, set a low Opacity, pick white colour, set angle to 90°, set Choke to 100%, set Size to 0 and then use Distance to adjust how large the shiny band will be.
November 11, 200718 yr It looks a lot better now, although I don't like the black bit...but the texture works well
November 11, 200718 yr Author It looks a lot better now, although I don't like the black bit...but the texture works well Yup the blue is too light on that previous one... Here now with a darker blue and a different pattern, it's nearly there now. I'm just working out how to put a 3D shadow on it in Fireworks.
November 12, 200718 yr I like that, where did you get the metal texture? Here bud: http://beauw.deviantart.com/art/texture-image-46588333 Coming nicely mate
November 12, 200718 yr Author Bah I cant do 3D Shadows in Fireworks and I can't get any 3rd party plug-ins to work.
