Hello, Ive been developing my web site for quite a while now and feel it is ready, I am just about to purchase a domain but I am not really sure which domain to go for:

 

The name of the website is Vizual Web Design, but I am not sure whether to buy the domain 'vizualweb.co.uk' or 'vizualwebdesign.co.uk'.

 

Any advice to help me decide which one I should go for would be great.

Personallly.... I'd get both!

i too would get both and point 'vizualweb.co.uk' to 'vizualwebdesign.co.uk' and run the main site off that one.

 

Vizual Web Design is name of your company so your primary domain name should match it, you could then use the 'vizualweb' domain in your advertising for the 'short, easy to remember' url if you wish.

 

shorter urls only make a difference in terms of advertising, most traffic to your site will come from SERPS so the length of your domain name doesn't really matter, and as google count your domain name as a keyword, your better having 'web design' in there as thats what your going to be doing.

 

I think the days of "short urls" taking priority over "relevant urls" are over, who here sees an advert for a company and then when they get home types the url straight into their browser? very few i imagine, most will type the company name into google/yahoo/etc and click a link...

I went for Vizualweb for shortness but im currently moving some money into my other account to buy the other. Thanks for all the feedback!

"vizualwebdesign.co.uk" is good .For the domain registration you need to check the availability of the domain name .If available means you can purchase .I will suggest the site [sPAM] to register the available domain .Check with it

Id suggest the first one, but vizual may be hard for some people to remeber and they might forget the z
