Re-design in photoshop

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I am in the process of designing my portfolio site in photoshop and this time it seems to be going the right way. I still have photography web design and logo design sections to add however this is pretty much the design.

I am struggling to know what to put in the big empty space on the right hand top side.

I am also planning to put a contact form in the left hand navigation type bar.

Only friendly constructive criticism please I want to know how to improve it not how to start it again from scratch.

Many Thanks

Luke

Perhaps you could move your 'You found me' section to the top right keeping main content together on the right and the secondary bits of info in the smaller column on the left?

I agree ...

I seem to be too drawn to the left hand side of the design. Which is a good thing if that's it's purpose, as that's where the important stuff looks like it's going to reside.

However, it looks just a little left heavy for me.

Like the idea though. Nice!

+1.

Too much on the left, not enough on the right.

Move some over ;)

It's your fine and friendly advice that keeps me returning to webdesignerforum.

Thanks to everyone so far.

Take a look at this I did this before I had any replies. It's just ideas at the minute nothing solid.

I will try the (YOU FOUND ME) top right aswell

Much more even for me.

Text is a little bit large at the top though, might want to reduce it and make it appear less obtrusive.

Other than that, much better.

Just tweaked the size of the text like you suggested and made a more definitive divide between the left bar and right. Now i'm going to start trying the (You found Me) over to the right and use the left space I will create for my twitter feed.

Much better!

Not sure about moving the (You Found Me) ..... I'd be inclined to keep it where it was.

Looks pretty well balanced for me.

Cheers everyone, Feel free to keep up the advising. I want to u=find some kind of nice way of breaking up the content in the left instead of just the white low opacity bars I have placed in there. Any ideas where I can get some nice dividers?

Thanks again

Luke

I like the idea of the design, not really too sure about the wording you have used (freelance tea maker) sounds as if your going for a comical/ personal touch but doesn't really work in my opinion.

I like it. I would add a nice high footer though just to balance it out, and perhaps place the link icons on that?
