A Quick little site

Featured Replies

Thought i'd share this with ya. a mate of ine asked me to do a site for his business, it literally took me 30 mins to mock this up (including logo). its still very very rough as i did it in work (without my boss knowing ;) ) just thought i'd share it anyways

Nice mate, impressive for only 30 mins! Love the logo.

The footer and nav bar are a bit hard to read for me, not sure if it's just my screen but I'd darken it a bit. And maybe space out the text in the top right.

Looking good though

Looks really nice, clean and simple. I agree about the footer, it's hard to distinguish from the white background so changing that to black or a darker gray would definitely be worth doing.

Nice layout. I agree with what others have said above regarding the footer. The logo is very good.

ah thanks folks. i am gonna be building it in the next fews days. i havent really had a proper look at the site other than designing that page in the bottom corner of my screen so my boss couldnt see :) im gonna try use a lot of nice jquery functions on the site too to make it as interactive as possible as its for a good friend of mine who needs a dig out!

Cheers though. i'll keep ya's posted

made a little start on it last night. site only have the index and location pages started. might introduce some small gradient as a background. also need to work on the footer as its wrong!

Very crisp brochure style. I would perhaps add a gradient or some other effect/border to the header menu to make it a little less flat looking.

My feeling is that it almost seems in two parts - the header is blue and green and quite traditional looking with the wide, serif font.

Below that is grey, brown and orange and more modern looking with the tall, sans-serif font. I appreciate there is a bit of blue in the lower part of the location page but it just feels like it needs tying together a bit more.

i know exactly what ya mean. i am waiting on the actual logo (the one i have up is one i put together just as a place holder. i will probably introduce the same helvetica font throughout the header too as well as working on the colour of the top, i am going to redo the menu when i get a chance too. something a bit more solid as i feel its a bit light at the minute. still needs a good bit of work to tie it all up.

I like the background, the footer to me fits in well as well, but on the locations page, its pushing the footer content down and the footer background isn't following the content. You most probably noticed that though, this is in firefox3 btw.
