A friend of mine is getting lots of particularly unpleasant emails which contain a link to the same website. He has had a look at "whois" but has found nothing regarding the owner / origin of the website. Is there any other way of tracking this down.

 

TBH, I'm 99.9999% certain that the answer will be a very firm NO but I thought it was worth asking.

Are these spam emails?

You can't tell who built or is running a site unless they choose to tell you on the site, or you see it in the whois... and even if he can find out, and they are in (for example) Ecuador, Korea or Azerbaijan, I'm not sure what options he has to do anything about it...

 

One thing you can work out quite easily is who the host is - but again, you would need to speak the same language as the hosting company, and you would need their voluntary co-operation.

Tell him to change his email. It's easier than trying to stop the spam!

 

Or... use blackspider spam blocker.

Check the information of the website by the website Whoisxy.com .It will display the information of the site if the site is not protected by private registration .If it is not showing any information means it may be a scam site.
