May 26, 200917 yr Hey guys. I'm working on a PHPLD install for my clients (http://bit.ly/17g9PF) and they want, in addition to the categories on the page, a drop down menu of all the categories alphabetically sorted for easier navigation. How would I do this? Is it a mysql/php script that can do this? Please advise! Thanks! -Seth
May 26, 200917 yr I've never used PHPLD but doesn't it run on Smarty template? Anyhow generate your normal category list and wang it inside a select tag link so. Just change the values between the {} to suit... <form name="nav"> <select name="items" size="1"> <option value="" selected="selected">---Select a category---</option> <!-- start loop --> <option value="{category_url_value}">{category_name}</option> <!-- end loop --> </select> <input value="Go" onclick="location=document.nav.items.options[document.nav.items.selectedIndex].value" type="button"> </form>
May 26, 200917 yr For SEO reasons they really don't want a select drop down list. Why? As I read it Seth wanted it as an option for the sites visitors?
May 26, 200917 yr Author yea they wanted it for site visitors. they're still going to have the main area.
May 26, 200917 yr Author So Blue... I'm going to have to manually type in all of the categories into this drop down or will it automatically queue the mysql db?
