May 13, 200917 yr Good afternoon all, I'm just coming to the end of my second year on a HND Multimedia course, and our last unit for the course was to work for a real life live client. From scouting around, me and a friend found a neat little sandwich type cafe which we felt had a sense of style and would be good to do some work for, and happily he accepted It was decided that he wanted a website built, then some animations and leaflets produced as well.... all for free may I add I've being building the website over the last 2-3 weeks, it's gone through a few changes, but have finally settled on a design. Still awaiting the clients content and slogans for pictures, but the look is pretty much final. My friends animations and leaflets will also appear on that site very soon. website is hosted on the back of mine at the moment. Canteen Website I've validated the CSS, but the HTML has 9 errors due to a 'multimap' link, and 1 additional error due to a line of Javascript code using a < symbol. Anybody know a way to cure these last two errors, without getting rid of the link? Any comments in regards to what might be improved and any problems that arise in different browsers, would be much appreciated. Cheers, Giz
May 13, 200917 yr Looks nice, I like it. For the Multimap link, try replacing the & with & The menu is really nice, and the scrolling down to sections is very smooth. One thing to consider, when clicking a menu item, try changing the URL in the address bar to reflect the new section. This is particularly useful for people wanting to bookmark a part of a large page such as yours. The javascript property you need to change to do that is window.location.hash

Down to 7 errors in total though. Will have to look into the javascript and try and change it over like you say, good idea, cheers. May 14, 200917 yr Author Cheers for the comments Going to redo the 'menus+specials' graphic as I don't like the way it's sitting and have another lightbox object to go next to it as well. Off to see the client tomorrow to get the site content off of him, and then all the final extra tweaks have to be done in the next week as unit hand in date is next friday...

Going back next year for a BA in Advertising Design, still not direction to head in, enjoy some many different areas of design Attractive design, I like it alot Not sure if these animations are going to be practical though, or necessary tbh. The animation will be relating to a modular range of the food the client wants to promote, it will be situated in a lightbox. So it should all fit in ok. Very nice! A good, lightweight IE PNG fix is Unit PNG Fix Thanks alot, I will implement this now as it sounds great. Saw the client today, but he didn't have the content ready at the time. So I am awaiting his email over the weekend.
