March 30, 200917 yr Hi I had an idea about shopping baskets and would like your thoughts. Basically I want a way where customers can save their items in the basket and retrieve them later, but retrieve them from any computer. We find it common that a lot of our customers will look at our site during work hours (most likely on their work computers). Then when they get home they place an order. So I had an idea, what if I had an option in the shopping basket that allows the customer to enter their email address and then the system sends the customer an email with a special URL that has stored their products. So when they go home they open their email, click on the URL and hey presto their items are in the shopping cart and they can quickly and easily place their order, plus it will help them remember our company name as im sure some customers put stuff in the basket and forget our website / company. Does this sound like a good idea, and any thoughts or concerns?
April 1, 200917 yr It is a good idea. It will be more convenient for shopping customers. But dont know how to do it.
April 1, 200917 yr It is a good idea and Dell already have a system like this in place. I think its very useful when buying a lot of items or items with customisation involved.
