Help needed on seo!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

A client of mine has signed up to a seo company and is wanting me to send them passwords to the servers so they can do there mojo on the site.

I don't understand why they have gone to them because the site is on the first page of google.

I worked hard on the seo. I got the 3 keywords, injected them in the metatags and creativeley placed them in the copy. The site has been found to be 98% searchable!

Without doing this the site was ligering on page 9 of google, and page 1 after.

The company say they will place keywords at the bottom of the page to fill out the keyword desity. Is this stuffing!?????

I got the perfect desity through good copywriting.

Which is the best way mine or theirs?? Or do they know something I don't?

The company is First Search Consultancy Ltd.

Express your concerns, explain your point, try and find some bad case studies for first search :p

At the end of the day though, it's you clients site, they should be allowed to do with it what they want, you can suggest, recommend etc. But the client does what the client wants.

did your client come to you 1st for seo? did u know meta tags are soo 1999? and by that i mean they no longer have any effect.

Andy's right about the meta-tags, although there is a little evidence that Ask, Yahoo and MSN still use them.

Having the keywords at the bottom of the page as long as they link to pages within the site that have content relating to those keywords is fine but having just the words there with no link or context is stuffing.

Still worth doing, they hold no SEO value, however the geographical meta tags are still used, and the description tag can help as search engines don't always pick up good text for the description.

However, as far as i'm aware they aren't beneficial to rankings.

I wonder why the description text always has words in the search phrase highlighted when they appear in the SERPs?!!!!

Don't forget this little SEO copywriting gem!

Got to go with Bocaj on the original point of the thread - explain to your client clearly that they're idiots!!! but you can't force them to do the right thing. Quote them all of Google's Webmaster advice then have a stiff drink and help your next client!
