If you are a web designer/freelancer Do you list a phone number/address on your website?

 

If you do list your phone number, do you have a seperate number for web design related stuff or do you just put your mobile or house number up?

I didn't put mine on my site but just on business card.

I have my mobile number on my website, and my clients can have my house number should they need it.

We've got a company telephone number.

Never put a home number up. It's problematic and you never have any privacy.

Mobile numbers look unprofessional and have a "Deposit and Ditch" persona about them.

I am not saying this was aimed at me, but I feel freelancers can get away with just a mobile number.

 

And as for the deposit and dump I give all my clients my address so if I was to bugger off with their money they could just come see me.

I'm a Ltd company, so no choice.

 

I work in a serviced office and the communal receptionists answer the phone for me, which is quite a nice touch. They give me a call on my mobile if its important and I'm out.

 

My mobile number is on my business cards, which I think needs to be a bit of a given really. I'm glad I don't have to rely on using it on my website though, for both professional and privacy reasons.

 

Only giving a mobile phone number is more acceptable than it used to be. I think it used to have much more of a "pikey-gypo, tarmac your drive, cut your trees" stigma attached.

My phone number is on my current design, although it won't be so readily available in my new design (not on purpose, just doesnt fit with the new design).

 

I use my mobile number because it looks like a memorable, corporate number; 07733444092

 

I also think it's a great call to action, some people dont want to read about you, they want to hear your voice, and it gives you another degree of chance to win over a potential client.

I don't have anything on my website other than my email address and a contact form. I'm tempted to put my mobile number up but I hate talking to people on the phone that I don't know, I know it's a bit of a silly thing that I need to get over but it's just me I guess. I tend to mumble a lot on the phone too :-/.

If you want a company telephone number, just get a Skype account? I think it's about £2.50 a/month for unlimited UK Landline calls and all of the voice mail and other extras are chucked into.

 

It seems sensible since you're providing a company number which isn't a mobile.

That's not a bad idea SLGWN2P. I'm re-doing my portfolio and business cards now and I have a spare sim card so I thought about using that as a business phone, but I dont fancy carrying two phones around.

 

In the end I decided to put my normal mobile number on my business card, but not on my portfolio. I'll definitely look into Skype though
