Search Engine Optimisation Resources

Featured Replies

What are the best search engine optimisation resources around? I really need to improve my ranking on Search Engines to get more work, so I was just wondering what different methods people use. Don't be afraid to tell, I'm only talking about the local area, not nationwide, so you're not getting any competition ;).

Post links to books, websites, example etc, it'd be really helpful.

Thank you

Didnt you just SEO someones site a month or so back?

good content, quality backlinks and location based keywords.

what are your current stats? and what r ur stats for ur blog atm?

I did do their SEO a few months back, but I really want to get better and start being more effective on that side of things.

In the past month, hits have gone up 824.04%, getting around 3300 hits so far, but ideally I want even more and to improve my presence on Google somewhat, and the only way possible is through SEO.

Dont bother submitting anything to google its a waste of time. The best way is to write great content and then submit it anywhere that you can get a link back, that is article directories and guest blogging, that sort of thing. And post on as many forums as you can, related to your subject of course, in this case web design, theres no shortage of them, theyr everywhere. But don't post garbage, post actual useful replies that people will like and use and eventually people will start clicking your signature link and hopefully you get a free backlink if they are dofollow.

Incoming links is the only way to secure higher rankings and unfortunately that usually does involve lots of work.

Yeah you used to get stuck in the sandbox, which took longer than letting them naturally find your website, is that still the case?

Quality content is king, people will naturally link to good content far quicker than you can spam the interwebs with links to it, plus deep linking is always best.

Basically what the above said

Mmmm.... great content you say? That explains an upcoming article on Luke's blog!

I would not recommend submitting your website to Google, I have never done it for my site or any clients sites, and I have a huge success rate.
