January 11, 200917 yr For me to learn something, I need to have some decent tutorials that help me with what I'm trying to do. After frantically searching the web, I've found some websites and free ebooks that really help. Ebooks 1. Grokking the GIMP (free) This book is primarily about the gimp, but it has also helped me understand photoshop and colors as well. It does a good job of explaining what masks and channels are. It also talks about HSV and CMYK. I's a good read Websites 1. psdtuts.com This website is an awesome resource for photoshop. It provides articles and tutorials for mastering the digital design process. As a gimp user, I visit this website and try to convert the photoshop tutorials to gimp tutorials. In the end, it's a good website for everyone. 2. gimp-tutorials.net Basically the same as psdtuts.com, but this website is aimed at the gimp. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I thought I had more time to write this, but I currently don't. I'll finish writing this when I log back on.
