It's been a while since I've used or even seen Illustrator...don't have plans to use it anytime soon, but do let know if you find the tutorials to be amazing

These look like great sites. Also try the various Podcasts under the "education" > "technology" heading at the iTunes store. Most are also free.

I used illustrator for a while and I enjoyed it a lot but I moved to xara which is more suitable for me as an Illustrator.

 

For Adobe Illustrator I usually advice to read the tutorials in the help menu, only 5 pages of tutorials that teach you everything, that's how I learned Illustrator in one night, yes... one night... the rest is just practice and drawing to develop advanced techniques and that's all.
