Wordpress 2.7 - Like it?

Featured Replies

I updated to version 2.7 and happy to see the new interface. I haven't gone through all the navigation yet, but it seems like they are getting even better. Anyone else feel the same? :)

We are thinking about upgrading our blogs but then again last time we upgraded word-press we had to do some real hard work modifications as the two versions weren't quite compatible.

This time though there's an upgrade feature so it should be okay.

Yeah, 2.7 is OK. Upgrading was a piece of cake and my two blogs didn't break so I was happy with that. I think the admin interface is a bit better. It's easy to get to grips with and seems to make more sense everytime I use it. Thumbs up.

hey,

new wordpress = awesome.

the new design is a big improvement and the 'batch categories' and 'quick edit' functionalities are great.

Two things I would love to see for wordpress 2.8 though:

1 - the ability to 'section' categories and posts (like in joomla).

2 - being able to find the category id without having to hover over the cattegory name.

What do others think?

love it 10/10 replaced all my clients blogs with it over the weekend :)

only thing I don't like about wordpress is the default sidebar menu (nested headings) but thats easily remedied with simple php. :)

update: thank god I was not using wordpress for sakuiwebs articles section, I just accidentally dropped my database :(, luckily my articles section does not store the actual articles in the database (only indexes) so it wasn't too hard to put back :). phpbb has lost lots of data since my last backup though :(.

I think it's time to setup automated backups.

I miss 2.5-6's admin design, but I love all the new features. The comments section is awesome, and I like the new style for theme editing.

Got 2.7 running everywhere now. It's great. I get things done so much faster using it. Anyone actually notice a difference with the Turbo feature? ...google gears.

If BT ever sort out my phone lien and broadband access at home I may have the chance to try it...grr... :angry3:

I absolutely love the 2.7 upgrade. The design, the UI, everything seems a lot more polished this time. I particularly like the way you can move parts of the admin interface around and turn areas on and off – very cool. Now 2.7 is out I'm looking forward to the new multimedia features and updates that they're apparently working on, as uploading images and video has always been my gripe with WP.

I also have 2 questions:

Where do i download Wordpress?

Can i use it on my Blueyonder Webspace?

http://wordpress.org/

I can't believe I just went to google, searched it, copied the link to here....say thank you. :)

Not sure what blueyonder is...but if you have web space/host that allows php and mysql then yes.

yeah...!!!

i love it too, and they have integrated plugins installed in the wp2.7, save our time isn't? i hope wp will include google xml sitemap with their wp installer....
