Making the height of a div expand to the content in side

Featured Replies

Say i have a 3 column layout and the center column has more content in than the left and right column and expands in height more than the others.

How do i get the left and right column expand with the centering column? Or the other way round if the left has more content how do i make the center and right expand with the column?

Any suggestions or tutorials would be appreciated.

I suppose you could have a fixed width column and then make the other two flexible (ie percentage widths rather than px) ...you would also need a containing div for these elements.

There are some good webites that guide you on using fixed and fluid layouts....will fish them out and add them in a min.

There is bound to be a javascript way of dealing with this but I am just learning so can't tell exactly how yet!

Does this help?

Here's a link for fluid / fixed layouts; http://www.maxdesign.com.au/presentation/liquid/
