GIF compressor

Featured Replies

Hello!

I wanted to know if any of you know a good gif compressor. I need to make a gif animation lighter, but can't find any good tools. Does anyone know a good one?

I don't know one but when I've done animations usually cutting down on the 'amount' of animation and frames trims down the file size. I use bannershop pro which is good but any kind of compression affects the quality of the image which I suspect would be the same for any animation software.

What size is it now and what are you wanting it to be?

Well, the animation is 800x380 ant the file size is 495k. It has 80 frames. I already reduced the animation and trying now to tweak it a bit in the quality, but don't know what else to do...

I did the animation in flash! But I needed to export it to GIF because it's something that will be used on an e-mail newsletter thing...

Yeah, you don't want to use flash in an email.

I think your only option is to keep trimming it. 800px wide seems to me to be too wide for email anyway, I normally plump for 700 or 600px wide. 80 frames seems an awful lot - how long is that?

Maybe do an intro animation and then say click here for full flash based movie online.
