Traxor Designs

I designed the website about a month and a half ago and forgot to come here to ask how it is, so here goes... Do you like the look of my website? I was trying to go for something really light and simple and easy as the eyes, as I'm colour blind, hence the lack of different colours :). I hope that explains everything.

i like it, but it seems to be bunched up and pushed together, and it looks complex, which can be bad, as the simpler the design the more people like it, if people think it looks complex, they tend to leave because they can't be bothered to look at it. also i dont think the colors go well, light purple and grey  maybe light purple and white... nice though :)

I disagree with the comments above I like it very simple easy to see what you other work is like in esscence portofolio pices should show that you have the skill to design but needs to be simple to use after all thats what the buissness will be looking for, I cant say I am fan of the lilic either buts thats just me.

You do know that you can get shot for using a desktop resolution of 640x480 dont you?

Yeah reminds my of my grandmas knickers, if I ever saw them, mmm its lilac, icky.

My resolution is 1280x800? I'm not sure what you mean. Okay I'll have a chat with my girlfriend about the colours and sort them out ;). Thanks for pointing it out.

My subtle point is that your website is extreamly thin, which means your going to be cramping the content in, which will look messy. never been a fan of thin layouts myself.

Okay, I see your point but I disagree completely. The website is all justified, there isn't text in random places, it's very organised. I didn't want the website to be too content heavy, I just want to get the customer in, let them see the website, show them what I do and then them contact me.

On the contrary, if the website was wider, then the content would all be spread out and there'd be loads of line-breaks. Which is messy in my opinion :).

i agree with traxor, i went and designed one for myself after seeing your and it eneded up being just like it: http:/www.aaronbrand.co.uk back to the drawing board :p

Never heard the phrase content is king? ;)

I've got nothing against thin layouts as long as they are executed well.... this one just isn't.

You see, all the successful thin layouts I've seen in the past have one thing in common. They all have visual design elements that justify the thin content area... What I mean by that is they will use graphics or page backgrounds that mean a narrow content area makes good design sense. Your site doesn't have that. It could easily be wider...even fluid and not only would it make more sense, it would look a lot nicer.

You seem pretty intent on keeping this layout and of course that's up to you but please don't dismiss this out of hand it makes you seem aloof and could end up biting you in the arse.

Thanks for your comments everyone, because of these I've decided to re-design my website. It's 850px wide and uses some nice visuals, I just hope everyone likes it :)
