Div tag floating off the page in IE but fine in every other browser

Featured Replies

Evening everyone,

I hope someone here can help, I have been working on a web site for a friend and all was going well however when I checked the site in IE.... you guessed it, there is a problem.

For some reason, the div that contains my page header is pushed off to the right of the page. I have checked in every other major browser and it looks fine.

You can see what I mean on this link:

http://81.149.249.9/test/indexNew.htm

The CSS file is here:

http://81.149.249.9/test/css/global.css

I have put the CSS code for the header strip in the box below.

#pageHeader	{
background-image:url(../images/pageHeader.gif);
background-position:bottom right;
background-repeat:no-repeat;
height:25px;
width:445px;
position:absolute;
bottom: 0;
padding:8px 10px 10px 15px;
float: left;
}

Any help you can give on this would be greatly appreciated as I am running out of hair to pull out.

Thanks in advance

Graeme :D

I take it you want it above your Nav bar? on the left?

Wow that was a quick reply! I have saved a screenshot showing what it should look like on the link below

And one showing what I am getting in IE on the link below which is causing the problems

Hope you can help :o)

Try putting a

position:fixed;

on there.

Just a thought...

If you add left:0; to this block of css, it should be fine:

#pageHeader	{

background-image:url(images/pageHeader.gif);

background-position:bottom right;

background-repeat:no-repeat;

height:25px;

width:445px;

position:absolute;

bottom: 0;

padding:8px 10px 10px 15px;

float: left;

z-index: 10;

}

ElanMan I can't thank you enough. I knew it was going to be something simple! Thanks again for your help with this one.
