i have just made a cool poster image for my website (under construction) on photoshop with dimensions 604 x 453; please could you advise me on what dimensions that will fit any screen and how to code it.

 

i have tried css and it still does not fit the screen.

You need to make the original image as large as needed.

Don't try to stretch it; it will just look crap.

To put a background image on your site use this in the CSS:

 

body {
background-image: url(http://yoursite/images/yourimage.png);
}

As said don't try to make it stretch to any resolution, what happens if someone has wide screen?
