So what size should i make my container div? 900x600??? 960 x 550 ought to cover all eventualities, allows some extra tool bars at top of browser...inevitably one monitor somewhere in 1024 * 768 will have less than 960 * 550 free... have they got a lot of copy or content that requires just one page? if so may be tough to fit into 550px height...
October 10, 200817 yr You should advise them that it's impossible to prevent scrolling vertically for all users - you have a myriad of things like toolbars and so on that will affect the browser viewable area height. Also if you go fixed width you will get horizontal scrolling if the browser window is narrowed too far. As headcoat said you can design for an *assumed* "average" size but no more
October 10, 200817 yr Author i have told them that it depends on the users browser and toolbars so there's no 100% size, but i will try and keep it to a minimum. Just waiting for the deposit before starting work
