I am sorry, I know there is so many out there but I woke up this morning wanting to design a simple CSS Gallery website

The only thing that looks unique is the header as the gallery itself is just the OS Designer gallery theme for word press with a couple of little tweaks. The thing with a css gallery is because of the free OS Designer theme 99% of galleries out there look like it, and there are 100s if not 1000s out there, so really this one just fades in rather than stands out.

 

 

Sorry if that is harsh, but I don't really see much to comment on other than the header which I don't really like, but that is a personal taste as I think the image with the font and the photoshop brushes just don't work together.

Banner and content completely unrelated. CSS Galleries are about things being beautiful, and usually, clean, your banner is completely opposite to this, and eyt your content area conforms?

Thanks for reply - I agree it dont need one but I am just building this one I plane to be a little different, "website romance" I was tired I was trying to think of a clever slogan but not quite right yet.

I think you have to give them your credit card details - at least that's what I heard!

 

Well, even if it is 'another gallery' - it manages to stand out and look great - just be careful that when it's a working site that the background doesn't take over too much - the thumbnails have to remain prominent - but you know that! Have you thought about little design elements throughout like having ratings on each site that are like mini Oscars and things like that?

 

For a slogan how about "Taking you to more than the pictures" or "An a-list website gala" or "Blockbuster websites" or "Red carpet websites" or something similarly Hollywoody? For the look you've got I reckon a cheesy play on words of a film title would be cool, something like "The Unusual Suspects" or even a play like "Website Story"!

Had to move on to other projects but left it at this, I will get one of my chaps to slice N dice it and perhaps do something with it.
