You are going to have a hard time ranking for web designer portfolio. I would try and narrow in on a geographic region. And and try and add your keywords into your description and title as much as possible.

Agreed you'll have a tough time hitting such a competitive market and need to narrow your target.

But title and description tags also should work for humans and this keyword stuffing approach doesn't at all.

Also, your actual content isn't optimised to match your meta tags so your site is far from optimised. While I'm on the subject - your copy has a lot of errors (mostly around plurals) and is hard to read. At least break up the content with headings which also provide further SEO opportunities.

I did not tell him to spam keywords i told him to put them in as much in possible. i should have added that he should make the work for humans as well.

Hi there,

Depends on what you mean by directory structure. The layout you have is very crisp and clean. To grab really good keywords try, google's traffic estimate or yahoo search marketing to find keywords. Wordtracker is good if you are willing to pay for keywords, as was already suggested,

The key to ranking for keywords is :-

meta tags - title, meta keyword, meta description

h1 and h2 tags with your keywords there

first sentence and sparringly throughout your page you should place keywords again as was mentioned before remmember you are writing this for human eyes not google crawlers

bold text

same site url's - the links to your internal pages, make sure some of the anchor text, contains the keywords

outbound url's - depending on how many sites you link too...put some no follow tags on to preserve link juice

image alt's - make sure you images have keywords in them (sparringly)

hope this helps
