Hi guys, i have been (trying to) learn anything to do with webdesign/graphic design on my own and despite the abundance of good free tutorials i feel i am missing direction and basic principles of both web and graphic design, i have been researching some courses and am just looking for some wisdom! I have found a HNC and HND graphic design course at a local college near me, and have found a college in London called qantum who offers relative courses? has anyone heard of these courses and college and are they anygood? are they industry recognized qualifications? or am i better off learning by myself! any information would be helpful!? Hi all, ive seen some really cool designs on here and i am wondering can you use photoshop to design a wrapper for your site including the header and footer? if so what are the popular types and sizes do i use within photoshop? and how do i implement it into my site? through CSS? any help on this will be well appreciated, Thanks, Logan

ha! thats true! i thort the browsers would grab the fonts when online, but your reason makes more sense! any recommendations for fonts i can get that work across most browsers?

thanx for the comments guys, thats a good site you have there knight, gives me some hope! pvcblue, wat do u reckon i should widen my containing field to? the menu seems to be on two lines on IE but firefox and safari its only one but i will try amend that, and i am in the process of designing a new logo, i know it is terrible, especially on IE! minucocat, i will use a table for the menu, im also in the process of looking for a new menu, any suggestions? thanx for the advice i will change the copyright, any reasons for that? i quite like the logo below the nav, is there a reason to put it above? peter00 thanx for that, wat would you change a bout the face? cool, thanks for the comments, i have had a word with them about the logo and its under some redesigning, its not my favorite either! ile have a look on validating the form (i wasnt aware i had too! learn something new everyday!), i thort i had resized the images (or do you mean the images in the flckr gallery?) and doesnt seem to take long on my computers? and i will take more time planning my next one i think, i was just eager to get the site up! by looking at the copyright text do you mean the date? with the creative design i didnt want to add too much of my design, i wanted it to be more informative, easy to read and professional, but i do agree maybe i could ad a little!? thanks for all the comments again and will tweak it a bit and maybe resubmit it, keep the comment coming! cheers Logan

oh ok, thanks, i am familiar with centering the wrappers but i am curious as to how to change the look of it, i have a centered wrapper on my site but there are no borders or anything so its very plain, can anyone help with or give me some examples on how this is done in css? cheers Logan

yeah, sorry its the wrapper for your content? like the one on here is white with a slight shadow? Logan
