  1. In the past, search engines needed the manual site submissions for knowing about a new website launched but nowadays, submitting a site to the search engines is not needed anymore because by adding a few links to that, search engines and Google will find, crawl and index it.
  2. Why are you going to wait for the Google PR anyway? Only those webmasters are concerned about the PR updates who would like to buy or sell links and today, a high PR link does not necessarily help with rankings.
  3. When it comes to the matter of optimizing and promoting a website on the web, there would be no difference working on a website or a personal forum because in both cases contents and links are going to be needed. One thing is certain and that is blogs are liked more by search engines and so the content creation can be made easier as the pages will get indexed faster and gradually all these points will help with traffic.
  4. I personally like using tools like the Googlerankings as well as the ranking checker offered by the Seobook website. In the past, I liked very much the PR checking tools too but since PR is not that important today, so I have forgotten about the concept.
