Why are you going to wait for the Google PR anyway? Only those webmasters are concerned about the PR updates who would like to buy or sell links and today, a high PR link does not necessarily help with rankings.

Many of our clients concern themselves too much with Google PageRank.

 

We often have to explain to them that their page may still achieve good rankings without a high page rank. Sure, PR is a reasonable indication of the websites you want linking to you and it's value for incoming anchors but it it doesn't necessarily boost your rankings if YOU have a higher PR.

 

Concentrate on relevant content & telling people about it using good incoming anchor text. - Forget your own PR score!

Why will you wait for the PR Update?

You are right. It becomes an often practice when new websites with low PR get better positions than older ones. That happens because these sites offer regularly updated content which is full of most relevant keywords.
