  1. What is the different? they will still be updating it regularly to keep improving their users' experience which is important. It doesn't matter if the windows name they are using is Windows 11 OR Windows X or Windows 10.1 , all they need is good performance which they surely gonna get from Microsoft
  2. If you want complete control over the design and your client doesn't need to add more pages to the site once the project is finished, then go with muse. ecommerce and SEO are very easy to accomplish in Muse as well (I believe that both of those sites were created in Muse). Also, if your client needs to be able to add, remove, or adjust products in the eCommerce store, that widget will work perfectly. If the client needs to be able to add new pages (outside of products inside the store) then you'll need to go with wordpress So whether or not a client needs to be able to add more pages tends to draw a very clear line between the two platforms.
  3. I'm currently pursuing a 2 year program for web development here in DC. It's a second career for me as I was previously a medical student. I went to a career counselor when I was first contemplating leaving medical school (and going the web dev path) and she told me that a web career may not be an ideal career for myself personally BUT the advice she offered me was to try a class first, see if I like it, and go from there...so maybe you could do the same (I have since stuck it out). A fun little test you might want to take is the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI) and see if you have the MBTI "type" of other web developers (again don't be discouraged as I believe I actually don't have the "ideal" type as most web developers). So anyway my best piece of advice would be to take a class or two and see if you like it...if you do great! but if not then at least you know. Hope this helps
  4. The best is to start looking for entry level positions or internship type positions. There are a lot of positions at $15/hour + that will give you the experience you need and quickly move you to making salaries into $50k+. In IT you cannot really fool programming it takes commitment and good skills. However if you deal with business people who don't know programming they are dependent on good programmers and developers. It helps to develop business level understanding of processes so you can develop better solutions. Good luck.
  5. Wordpress will probably offer everything you need. Using a quality, customizable theme you can create some great looking websites with eCommerce capability as well. I would recommend looking into the Genesis Framework and the Child themes for it. I also like to use a paid plugin (forget the name atm, just google it) that lets you customize every part of it. My blog is using that setup right now. Links in the signature if you're interested.
