  1. First question: So lets say I'm making a website for a client, we've talked about everything like hosting design and other stuff.. and the client has agreed. I've seen people talk about the contract between designer/developer and client. I'm not sure whether verbal contract is enough. Is there any written contract for these sort of stuff? If there is how should I go about it. If there a hardcopy that I can buy? Second, - I made logo for the client's website. Do I charge him extra for that? - Do I need to tell him that I will be making logo for him and include it's cost in total? - How do I go about copyright, is it just about buying copyright on the clients name? Do I also charge extra for that?
  2. Didn't know where to post. I'd be very thankful if you guys could just answer the following questions, nothing long, I just want a simple idea. - Do you ask the client for how long they want website to be up for? - Do you discuss with them about the hosting and domain cost? - Do you ask the client, who just wants a website for his small local business if they want website in Wordpress? or I just calculate everything by myself and tell them the total? and give them a little transcript of premium resources used domain, hosting etc.. Ex. - Premium them; 30£ - Hosting and domain for a year; 80£. - Setup; 30£(Assuming it wont take more than 4-5 hours(taking from a perspective of a beginner). or can I just go ahead and tell them it will cost you about 140£ and let them know website domain and hosting will expire after a year.
  3. Hey man, cant thank you enough for this constructive feedback. Thankyou. And DariusShojaei I didn't C/p anything lol. Logo's unfinished because this is a practice design I could definitely design a logo but it'd take long time. Once more, thanks everyone, I really appreciate it all.
  4. alright so i finally can make a thread in this section. don't wana waste anyone's time so lemme get right to the point, I'm not very new nor am I too experienced . Below is the design I made from scratch (no DW). Of course I used jquery plugin cycle for the slideshow. I'd like you feedback on it. also, not to mention I used 960 gs. I don't care as long as the feedback is constructive I'm here to learn. Please criticize freely. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28490184/web%20design%20G1/index.html
  5. na, it depends on experience. one with little experience can charge 20 and it'd look alot while other with lots of experience charging 200 won't be enough.
  6. No, they don't. It's just another website that sells products on name of "premium products"..
  7. Why not use jQuery plugins, they're implremetable on fly. And work on different browsers? Oh and WOW slider is good but paid.
  8. As said above, do not start with dreamweaver if you're new to web design or code. I'd recommend starting from basics like, HTML and CSS. Once you know HTML and CSS see if you've time to learn basics of javscript too. Once you know basics of jvavascript you may start using its libraby, jQuery. The most imprtang thing is you understand what yo're doing before uing dreamweaver. In my personal experience premium web designing courses are really premium like they describe..
  9. Well, I couldn't stop myself from joining this great website. The main reason I've joined is to get some feedback on a webpage I've made. So, I'll see you guys around
