  2. Hi guys, So I have some basic knowledge of HMTL and CSS and want to carry on learning until i can build a site and know how to basically code sites etc.. I'm currently using a treehouse account to help me learn and its quite good, however i also have a html css book from Jon Duckett which is very helpful, however I still don't think i have quite got the hang of it.. So i wanted to know how did you guys learn HTML and CSS and then transition to learning JS? As one day i hope to pursue a career in front end development. Thanks!
  3. Hi All, I will be designing my freelance web designer site for myself, however I need some help. Do I use a CMS for my site to manage the content if so shall I purchase a theme an configure it or should I design in PS and convert to CMS after if so how would I go about doing that? Also do freelancers use a CMS for they're site? Thanks
  4. Hi Guys, I am very passionate in coding (HTML/CSS etc). I want to design some mock up designs for fun and practice. However I'm unsure how to start I always resort to somewhere like ThemeForest to download a theme and work from that but I see that as cheating design. I want to learn how to create a site from scratch using Sketch or Photoshop. So can anyone give me tips on how to start as I am always stuck on how it will look etc - colors, font... For example I want to create my site with my portfolio but dont know how I can make it look or what colors I should have etc. So can anyone help me on where I can start to gain confidence in designing and knowing how to design and start etc? Thanks
  5. Hi Guys! Recently came onto this forum for help about starting off web design. I want to ask you guys a few things... Is it necessary to learn Graphic Design to be a good web designer on Photoshop? Is Photoshop a good software to design sites? I am also having trouble designing sites - I struggle thinking of what it can look like and go blank... So for example for my site which will hopefully launch soon I am unsure what colors to use how to set it out etc:( Can anyone give me tips on this and answer by questions. Thanks, Much Appreciated!
