  1. 1 & 5 are bolder and for my eye work better. I normaly give the client the options first then when they have chosen a few to work with I then develope them. The usual thing happens, the ones you prefer are the ones the clients don't sway towards - and the ones you are not too keen on are the ones they love love love.... Its a funny old game sometimes....

  3. 1. Research who the logo is for - target market - competitor logos. 2. Ask the client if they have any ideas / moods they would like to explore (ie get them to creat a montage of logos they like and logos they hate) 3. Where is the logo to be used - this will determine use of certain colours and size for web & print without hindering the design layout. 4. Font based logos are as good as icon & font logos - its all in the application. 5. Always create logos in vector format for use small or large. 6. Oranges, Blues and Reds are differcult to replicate in CMYK 100% when printing the logo (unless using Pantones) - Screen based logos are always brighter because they use RGB. Make the client aware of these before heading down this route. 7. Simplicity is sometimes better than 'guilding the lilly'. 8. Create a page of fonts, a page of colourways and a page of icons for the initial stage so that the client can pick out some elements they prefer to creat some initial ideas from. 9. Don't do too many - Clients get pannicked with too many ideas - plus most don't have the time. Aslong as you have a reason for your designs they usually will agree with you.
