If you are looking at writing your own code to do this then you have 2 options really: 1) Pull the data from RSS feeds. 2) Connect to the sites API and pull back the status. (The better option) All social networking sites offer an API that you can connect to and perform a whole host of requests. You would have to write some server side code (PHP, Coldfusion, .NET) that connects you to these API's. Usually you can pull the data back in XML or JSON format and then display this how you wish.

The PSD file is just so that you can edit the design of the site yourself. They are layered so that you can edit each element individually. The PSD files are not used by the web server in anyway. Think of them as the source files for the images in your /image folder.

From my experience the best way of back linking is from blogs and directories that are relevant to your site. Also making sure that the anchor text in your backlink includes the key phrase that you want to target. I tend to stay clear of targeting forums, mainly because it annoys the forum leaders and also they gain sod all weight with the SE. But saying that a link is a link. Setup your own blog and write good quality content then post your blog to social networking sites. If people like your content then you will get backlinks without trying. I targeted the key phrase 'Free Shopping Cart' using the above methods and I have (at the moment) a page 1 listing for this search term on Google. This is also quite a hard search term to hit as its competing with over 40million sites. It just shows that back linking is probably the most powerful way of climbing the rankings.

Yeah this option is open though, probably upgrade it to 500 products per account... the shop cart is aimed at startups really so its whatever seems a reasonable ammount. cheers.

Thanks for the feedback, I agree with all your points. Problem is the site has to be very design specific so loosing alot of accessability for design concept. The links in the body copy are for SEO purposes mainly so not really intended to stand out. Good point about the bottom link to the store though, tar.

Oh no not Access!! bad bad! Best way is to dump your database as an SQL file. You can then just import this SQL file at the other end and it will build your database. When you export to SQL make sure you export table structures and row data.

You are trying to call an email function that isn't supported on that server by the looks of things. This is the error i got: Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3' Server.CreateObject Failed /austindsilva/email/send_email.asp, line 80 What are you calling on line 80?

I use navicat all the time, if you are having problems connecting then it will more than likely be down to permissions. If its a new user account that you are trying to connect to then the priviliges may need to be flushed. Otherwise it could be that your hosting company are refusing remote connections for some reason. Are you sitting behind a firewall? make sure you have port 3306 unblocked too.
