PJWeb reacted to Sysode in Where to start.Look around for inspiration at what others have created. Borrow ideas and implement them in to what you need. This doesn't mean copying them exactly obviously but it can help seeing a selecting of websites which you can then merge in to your own custom website.
Like the above said, it's also important to think about your content and think about how that is presented in a clear to read but neat looking way.
