  1. Perhaps it's his local settings then. Can anyone think what could be set on his computer to make it display incorrectly?
  2. One of my websites is having problems. It displays fine on my computer (Windows 7) in all browsers but my customer says that it doesn't show properly on his computer in IE8 (Windows XP). Since I don't have XP, it's even more difficult for me to fix this one. The problem is that any images which are meant to be loaded in the CSS file don't load. The actual site structure DOES work from the CSS and images loaded from the page's HTML code load so I can't see why only images in the CSS file won't load. I have attached a screenshot that my customer sent me to show the error. If you have Windows XP and IE8 and could take a look, that'd be great. Site is http://tinyurl.com/ycaqoet
  3. Damn, here's me hoping there'd be a simple html solution. Thanks people.
  4. I've found an example of what im after. If you go to http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-uk you'll see that once the top field is changed, this changes the options in the other fields. It is this that i want to be able to do. Anyone know how?
  5. I don't think what i need to do needs AJAX. Although i'm sure AJAX would do something similar, i'm certain there's a more simple way of achieving what im after.
  6. Could anyone tell me how to do the following: I want to make an html form (simple enough) but i want it so that it has a few drop down lists in it. When a user makes a choice in the first drop down list, i want the following drop down list to only display choices related to the choice the user made in the previous drop down list. Hope that makes sense.
  7. Right you are, silly me! It's a bad habit of mine which i really should break; i always put px after it. Never again!
  8. You can set the wmode to transparent but that's for SWF files. <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
  9. as above but alternatively border:0px; } Hey, every byte counts.
  10. That fixed it, thanks very much!!!!!!!
  11. Thanks very much, can't add this right now but will tomorrow. I'll let you know if it fixes it. Much appreciated!
  12. Hi. I really know little to nothing about PHP at all. My limit is to more or less understand one PHP mail script I have except for this bit which is annoying me. I have a contact form on my website and a php file to which the form gets posted to (i dont even know the correct terminologies here). This all works, however I'm modifying it for another form. It's nearly identical but on the new form i want 3 required fields and not 2 like in my old working form. Bellow, you'll see the code as it was which works and then the new code which doesn't work. It gives me the following error: "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in mail.php on line 36". code that works with 2 required fields. <?php $to = "my@email.com"; $from = $_REQUEST['Email']; $name = $_REQUEST['Name']; $message = $_REQUEST['Message']; $headers = "From: $from"; $subject = "Website Enquiry"; $fields = array(); $fields{"Name"} = "Name"; $fields{"Email"} = "Email"; $fields{"Organization"} = "Organization"; $fields{"City"} = "City"; $fields{"Message"} = "Message"; $body = "Details submitted:\n\n"; foreach($fields as $a => $b){ $body .= sprintf("%20s: %s\n",$b,$_REQUEST[$a]); } $headers2 = "From: my@email.com"; $subject2 = "Thank you for contacting us"; $autoreply = "Thank you for contacting us"; if($name == '') {print "You have not entered a name, please go back and try again.";} else { if($from == '') {print "You have not entered an email address, please go back and try again.";} else { $send = mail($to, $subject, $body, $headers); $send2 = mail($from, $subject2, $autoreply, $headers2); if($send) {header( "Location: http://www.website.com/sent.php" );} else {print "There was an error sending your request. Please try contacting us direct at my@email.com"; } } } ?> code that doesn't work with 3 required fields <?php $to = "my@email.com"; $from = $_REQUEST['Email']; $name = $_REQUEST['Name']; $message = $_REQUEST['Message']; $headers = "From: $from"; $subject = "Website Enquiry"; $fields = array(); $fields{"Name"} = "Name"; $fields{"Email"} = "Email"; $fields{"Organization"} = "Organization"; $fields{"City"} = "City"; $fields{"Message"} = "Message"; $body = "Details submitted:\n\n"; foreach($fields as $a => $b){ $body .= sprintf("%20s: %s\n",$b,$_REQUEST[$a]); } $headers2 = "From: my@email.com"; $subject2 = "Thank you for contacting us"; $autoreply = "Thank you for contacting us"; if($message == '') {print "You have not entered any message.";} else { if($name == '') {print "You have not entered a name, please go back and try again.";} else { if($from == '') {print "You have not entered an email address, please go back and try again.";} else { $send = mail($to, $subject, $body, $headers); $send2 = mail($from, $subject2, $autoreply, $headers2); if($send) {header( "Location: http://www.website.com/sent.php" );} else {print "There was an error sending your request. Please try contacting us direct at my@email.com"; } } } ?> The only difference is that in the newer version, I've added: if($message == '') {print "You have not entered any message.";} else { ...and as someone who knows nothing about PHP, it has me stumped why this won't work. Surely it's an exact copy of the other two required fields validators that are there. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  13. http://www.vidahost.com/. Excellent company, excellent customer service, excellent prices. Only good reviews for them wherever you look.
  14. Thanks for you help I have 4 at the minute (all of which have been paid for already on 2 year hosting plans), a website of my own a i made a while back, 2 websites being built at the minute and a soon-to-be (long over due) portfolio website of mine. So at the end of the foreseeable future, that's 2 websites of mine, 2 websites without hosting yet and 4 websites which all have between 1-2 years left before i need to re-buy or switch hosting on. The next year is anyone's guess because I'm so new at it that I haven't got a clear estimate on how many I'll get.
