  1. I have just tried to do this too and it works in FF but not IE. I have put: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico"> <link rel="icon" type="image/gif" href="favicon.ico"> in my file between the head tags. Also make sure your favicon.ico file is in the same directory (ie root) as the html page. Hope this helps -Gen-
  2. Bit of strange problem - hope you get it sorted
  3. Im afraid I cant get my head around it - Ive tried to implement the code you suggested but I end up with text links that are one below the other and only the top half of the site shows. Ive had a fiddle around but cant seem to get it right. -What are the problems associated with having negative values? Cheers
  4. Is it displaying okay on a PC? Sometimes this happens when the compression picks up the white light on the banana and makes that transparent too. Try changing the compression settings to 'Exact' istead of "Adaptive". Im not an expert on this, I just tried it out in Fireworks then and it seemed to work so may be worth giving it a try. -Gen-
  5. Taking the 500px height out of the wrapper has fixed it. The text now changes only ever so slightly. Regarding the negative values I dont really know how else to do it. Putting those values in was the only way I could get it to be in the positions I wanted....what would normal practice be? Thanks
  6. view source > save ?
  7. Hi guys, Im in desperate need of help as I cant figure out whats going wrong. The footer changes position dramatically when viewed in IE compared to FF. Im assuming its a problem with how ive done my divs and have tried to rectify the problem, to no avail. It affects some of the other divs too, for example if I try to change the layout aka for the rest of the pages. Any help or advice would be a godsend: Big Drop style.css

How do I get around using negative values? (sorry, quite new to this)
  9. Im working on a website but the position of the text is different in FF to IE. How can I get it to be consistent in both browsers? Also there is a large blank scrollable space below the main content when viewed in IE - how can I get rid of this? The site is here: http://sitetest211.uuuq.com/bigdrop/index.html Thanks
  10. ah yes, I forgot about the .tk not allowing acces to the code. The actual site address is: http://gennacarr.uuuq.com/index.php. I am just starting out and have only just finished uni. My degree wasnt in web design but I done a module on it and am trying to learn more, therefore the site is very much a starting point. Here are the links to the other pages so you can see the time changes: http://gennacarr.uuuq.com/night.html http://gennacarr.uuuq.com/sunrise.html http://gennacarr.uuuq.com/sunset.html I was trying to do something a bit unique with the time change thing but I dont thinks its going down too well. Ive also thought about having each page as the change instead - ie, Home as sunrise, CV as daytime, Work as sunset and Contact as realistically I dont think anyone will be viewing at at, say, sunrise. - or just restart altogether?
  11. I hand-coded it - not sure why you think I have used a WYSIWYG. It does lack something (although im aware theres no content as of yet) but I dont know what it is. I find it hard to get that professional look from a website and posting here for ihelp. The image on the site was made from scratch and I was pleased with it when I done it, but on the page it doesnt look how I wanted it to. Although I quite like my other pages (ie when it changes to sunset and night) but the daytime one doesnt have any 'feeling' to it.
  12. Hi, Im working on building a small portfolio type site that I can build up over time. The current site changes CSS based on the time of day. I like the idea of this but the image I have in my head doesnt match what ive created. Basically I just wanted you to throw a few ideas at me as to what I can do to give it a more interesting feel. I think its more the background thats a bit plain. Be gentle with me though! The site is here: http://gennacarr.uuuq.com/index.php Cheers -Gen-
  13. Just a small thing - Questionaire is spelt Questionnaire. Other than that - beautiful design, im very surprised this is a first attempt! -Gen- x
  14. Wow that really is a great site! ('Expertees' on the Services page should read 'Expertise' - ?) -Gen-
  15. I love everything about this! I can only hope to reach this standard of web design. -Gen-
