Hello all,

 

I have been creating a website that uses transparent gifs and a problem has occured for my client. When viewing the images on their Mac (both in Safari and Firefox) the image they get is blurry and fragmented. See image below for example of this.

 

To the left is what they should be seeing and the right is what they are seeing.

 

Has anyone come across anything like this before? What could be causing it? How is it fixable?

 

If anyone could shed any light that would be great!

Is it displaying okay on a PC?

 

Sometimes this happens when the compression picks up the white light on the banana and makes that transparent too. Try changing the compression settings to 'Exact' istead of "Adaptive".

 

Im not an expert on this, I just tried it out in Fireworks then and it seemed to work so may be worth giving it a try.

Yeah it works fine on a PC and on most Macs.... it's just one person's Mac where it is displaying incorrectly. I'll try what you suggested though!

 

Am beginning to think it's some kind of fault with the way their Mac displays PNGs though since it seems to be the only computer in the world which doesn't display it correctly, hehe.
