Hi everyone, I've not been online for a few weeks as I received a bit of bad news 5 weeks ago. Unfortunately, I have been diagnosed with cancer and have begun a course of Chemotherapy with radiotherapy to follow. This basically means that I wont be able to spend the time I had planned working on Web design. I had only just purchased 6 Brilliant books as well. Therefore i've decided that I should sell the books. They are all in MINT (as new) condition. All bought from either Border Books in Edinburgh or direct from Sitepoint themselves. No sensible offer will be refused. p.m. me an offer. The books are... Buy yourself some of the Sitepoint books. This is what I did around 6 weeks ago. I feel i've learnt a huge amount by doing this. Check out the sitepoint site / forum/ books here... http://www.sitepoint.com/books/ I bought the books in this order... I then went onto the following books which I purchased from Amazon... You wont go far wrong with these books to get you on your way. I also purchased WeBuilder by Blumentals. An excellent xhtml/css editor. I've just checked it in Safari 3.1.1 and Opera 9.27 and it looks good in both to me. What's the problem you're seeing?

Is it wise to always create a stylesheet with the default padding and margins removed and to work from there? e.g... /* Author: Joe Bloggs Website: http://www.joeblogswebdesign.co.uk Date: 24th May 2008 Created for: */ * { margin: 0; padding: 0; } Or is this overkill? What about... /* Author: Joe Bloggs Website: http://www.joeblogswebdesign.co.uk Date: 24th May 2008 Created for: */ h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, ul, ol { margin: 0; padding: 0; } instead ?
