  1. Hi all, does anyone know a way how to create a drop down list that changes the appearance of the page when a value is selected? for example the box has 3 values : style 1 style 2 style 3 I want to be able to select each option, and for them to load a different style sheet. So style 1 will load style1.css and so on. The research i have done so far suggests i am going to be using .onchange functions?... Thanks for your help Al
  2. Thank you both for your advice, ive got it working and looks really good!
  3. Thanks for the advice Steve, another question, how do i make the title of my box look like my picture?... So the "Title" is over the line of the panel?... I have seen css for fieldset but doesnt seem to work any ideas?
  4. Im so stupid. i did not have <div id ="div-2"> Cheers!
  5. Thanks alot for that Steve, quick work. I probably should have mentioned, i would need some help with the HTML... with out making my self sound completely stupid... I just do... <div div-2> <p>content</p> </div> is that correct?
  6. Ive uploaded the image of the design i would like to achieve Yes, its just the CSS stuff i need help with, i want to create the boxes and then place my components inside them
  7. Well, once i had uploaded the image i realised it was an old version of my design, so i will now up load the new one with AN ACTUAL 4th panel
  8. Hi all i have an idea i would like to develop but i cant seem to find out how to start ... I need 4 boxes/panels which will make up the structure of my webpage for a tool i will be using. I have uploaded a picture of my design i made in phothoshop which should help you understand what it is im after, Ignore the detailed stuff im just after how to make some boxes similar to the ones on the picture! Thanks in advance Al
  9. Thanks for that T-G! I appreciate your help. I understand what you mean about a log in, but ive had discussions with my line manager and he says that logging in every time a user wants to use the tool is useless, The current tool has no log in, but my idea would benefit from a log in quite obviously. Im doing a placement year at a very large company and this idea will be implemented to the current tool and it will be used by quite a few hundred people! So you can the problem i am faced with. Do you have any more information on the creation of a PHP config file at all? Cheers Al
  10. Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. I have tried cookies and it works as we want! Which IS GREAT Also had an idea about letting the user save and download a configuration file of their settings for the page, i know its possible but cant find out how to do it. I am still going to use cookies, because that will remember the last session, but the idea behind a config file is to enable the user to save a different configuration for every layout that suits the project they are working on. They will be then be able to upload the file when they want to load the configuration they saved. Has anyone got any idea about how configuration files work? Thanks in advance Aaron
  11. Sorry for the late reply Leon I will try this code when i am back at work on Tuesday and i will let you know how i managed to get on. Thanks so much for taking the time to figure out the problem! Aaron
  12. Hi Leon, I understand which piece of code to take out to fix it, but i cant find the file that the code is in?... its strange? Any ideas?
  13. Going to sound really silly, but i cant find the file that contains the code for this? im trying to remove - <div class="grid-box width33 grid-h" style="width: 319px; "> Can some one help ? Thanks! Aaron
  14. Thanks for your responses guys. Using Firebug i see that the 3rd box had a fixed width, as soon as i removed that piece of code, the box jumps straight back up in line with the rest! Thanks for your help. Ill try and remove it in the code Thanks!
  15. Hi, i have made a website using joomla, and i really do like it! Its been perfect for a while but for some reason i find that Google Chrome is displaying it differently on certain pages... for example http://pinpointdistribution.co.uk/index.php/distribution-prices When you open with Firefox it is displayed as 3 boxes across the page and a large box at the bottom, however now open it in chrome and you will see that only 2 boxes go across and the third is slipped underneath? Can anyone else see this problem using chrome? if you do, does anyone have any suggestions about what could be coursing it? it worked fine before too, so i assume something have changed some where. Its just very annoying! Thanks in advance. Al
