New Portfolio Layout
Thanks for you input. I've had a little play around with the way work is displayed on the front page, and think it looks a bit better. In terms of font, do you mean on the site or the logo? I've messed with the font for the site, and settled on one that I like. What do you think now?

New Portfolio Layout
Hi guys, My portfolio website has gone through some redesign, I'm in the process of getting all the required content on to it, so bear with. I'd appreciate some feedback on the site so far though, before it's too late to change anything The site is here: http://www.osmith.co.uk Appreciate it very much! Thanks, Oliver

Webdale - Digital designer and Mercenary for hire
I am seriously impressed, I love it. It's too hard to be really critical on this website, so I'm going be annoyingly nit-picky. Load times are a little slow I feel a little unnerved at being able to spin you round and look at you from behind I don't like when people put the levels of their skills in a bar. If you're learning something, cool, say you're learning it. But don't give the impression you suck at it by putting a tiny "ability bar" for that skill set. Give it a once over for SPAG, as I noticed a couple of things Amazing design and excellent website though, proper impressed with this work. Good luck for the future, though I highly doubt you'll need it.

Div positioning trouble
Sincerest *embarrassed* thanks. Never again shall such a grave error be made. I must start indenting my work...

Div positioning trouble
Hi guys, Forgive me if this is really obvious, but I'm at a blank. I have a div that won't position as I think it should (http://www.theowlandthepussycatx.com/wip.html), it's the div that contains "Something". If I add a top border to it, it drags everything down with it. I'll post the code too, though don't mention the fact that all CSS is inline, as it's still just being designed and developed at the minute. <html> <head> <title>The Owl & the Pussycat Piercing</title> <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=League+Script' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'> <style type="text/css"> a.nav:link {color:#000;font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none;font-size:18pt;} a.nav:visited {color:#000;} a.nav:hover {color:#ee78a7;} </style> </head> <body style="background-image:url('tile.png');background-repeat:repeat;margin:0px;"> <div style="width:100%;"> <div style="height:155px;width:100%;background-color:#fff;-moz-box-shadow: 0 0 10px pink;-webkit-box-shadow: 0 0 10px pink;box-shadow: 0 0 10px pink;opacity:0.7;"> <div style="width:900px;margin:0 auto;"> <div style="float:right;"> <div> <h1 style="line-height:10px;"><img src="navlogo.png"></h1> <p style="line-height:10px;font-style:italic;text-align:right;">Unit 11, The Forum. 127 Devonshire Street, Sheffield, S3 7SB</p> </div> <p style="line-height:10px;text-align:right;"> <a class="nav" href="#">Home</a> <a class="nav" href="#">Info</a> <a class="nav" href="#">Prices</a> <a class="nav" href="#">Gallery</a> <a class="nav" href="#">Contact</a> </p> </div> </div> <div style="width:900px;background-color:#fff;margin:0 auto;"> Something </div> </div> </body> </html> Many thanks, Oliver

Thumbnail Advertising Website Review
Hey, The site is really nice and clean, very well laid out. I'm not sure if the concept is something that would appeal to many businesses though, as there is no real incentive for the public to go onto it. The amount of hype surrounding Million Dollar Home Page made it viable for businesses to invest, but the idea is now somewhat dated. Good luck with it anyway though, and as I say, the design of the site itself is great. Oliver

Critique my Portfolio
OK thanks guys. I've made quite a number of changes this evening (only really on the home page though). I'm leaving it for tonight, so I'd appreciate if anyone would be able to give an updated opinion on it. There is a screenshot in the OP of what it looked like originally. Many thanks! Oliver

Critique my Portfolio
Porkchops, I'm mobile at the minute so will read that post fully when I get back to base. But thanks do much for all the pointers you have given, I look forward to acting upon them and presenting a much more polished site to you. Oliver

Critique my Portfolio
Thank you very much Lovelock I know exactly what you mean about the navigation, to add anything such as "Navigation:" to it, or to change the styling of it, seems to play havoc with the overall design. I'd be very grateful if anyone could advise on exactly what would work. When you say that "non website knowledgable people will get it", do you mean the simplicity of it? As in people will look at it and say "oh that's basic, I don't want him working on my identity"? Thanks, Oliver

Critique my Portfolio
Hey gang, This is my (nearly completed) portfolio website for the freelance work that I do. I'd like you to be really harsh with it, test things out, etc. In the top right of the main section will be my portfolio's logo - once it has been completed and vetted - which will have the same minimalist B&W style. Not so much emphasis has been put on the code layout yet, as I have pretty much done this one as I go, without much planning of code. But I digress. Please check it out for yourselves and let me know what you think. Link to portfolio Thank you all
