I would say you need "More."

I'm still a beginner but I saw some things of which I'm sure could use some improvement.

Design;

-Why a static 600px grid? Use the space that's given.

-I'm sure the bg image with "say hello" looks pretty cool for you on a 27" screen but on smaller screens it disappears behind the content so unreadable..

-The huge, colored text doesn't look so nice in my opinion.

-The display of your WORK items is a bit messy, use same sizes, more padding and maybe borders

-You say you're a proficient user of photoshop, so use it! There's nothing going on.. buttons, drop shadows, gradients, graphics ...

 

Code:

-your <head> is empty...

-keep css external

-minify jquery

-use sprites

-add some :hover styles, as I said there's not much going on.

 

There's more, so this might sound harsh but I think you should redesign and do some more research into coding

Is your site under construction? I only see the HTML-Code without CSS or anything. And the loadtime is realy to long.
