  1. Thanks. That's quite helpful, since most of my visitors probably aren't professional designers anyway Thanks. Do these look better? #666 shadow #777 shadow # shadow #999 shadow Maybe I'll make it a bit lower in width as well.
  2. I use HostGator, NameCheap, and SharkSpace shared hosting at the moment. HostGator does have helpful support, but their hosting isn't always fast. During peak hours in the US, the server my site is on frequently reaches 40.0 load and higher (it's a 16 CPU server), causing MySQL outages, slow loading, and so on. Maybe I just got unlucky by being placed on this particular server, but I'm not too impressed. NameCheap seems good - there were a few outages months ago, but overall it's solid. Surprisingly enough (since it's not a very popular host), SharkSpace is probably the best shared hosting out of all I've tried. No outages as far as I noticed, always fast loading.
  3. Hello, I was hoping to get some advice regarding this gaming blog theme. I'm not really a web designer, just made this for my own blog. Please vote for the version you think looks better. Any additional advice is welcome as well! First (what I'm using now): http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/9915/blogversion1.jpg Fluid header/footer, fixed content area. Content area and main background are white. This is my main worry, that there's too much white and it might be tiring to widescreen monitor owners (I use an ancient 4:3 LCD so it isn't an issue for me). Although I notice that some big sites like PCWorld.com are using "all white" as well. Second: http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/4613/blogversion2.jpg Added gray background, played with CSS3 box-shadow and border-radius. Is it an improvement at all? I fear the header casting shadow on the content area might make the header "pop" more, when in fact it's the content area I want to emphasize. (I know both designs are rather simple, but that's what I'm aiming for. And fancy stuff is beyond my skills anyway )
  4. I like B since it's the most simple and clean one. I think the tagline in A would need a bigger font, also I'm not sure if title case and exclamation mark are needed. C the idea is great, but it's not really clear that it's supposed to be a "B". (I am by no means an expert though)
