it does but sometimes its the only way. unfortunately you have at least 8.years of high premiums. you have to wonder if its worth it with petrol and tax and insurance being so high. my advice to you. as i am an old man now (22) is to not bother with a car and save the money instead

is that third party or fully comp. yea look up the black box. one other thing to consider is a 125cc motorbike. get a cbt for about £125 and you can use a 125cc bike on learners for two years. great fuel economy, virtually no tax, you can pick them up for under 2k and insurance will be much less than a car, probably about £600 odd. thats what i did. also when doing your insurance put your mum on as a named driver, it will make it come down abit

i think there is a sceme at the moment that the co-op are doing that reduces you premium alot. They install a black box so they can monitor your driving and you arnt allowed to drive from 11pm till 6am. i know an 18 year old who only pays £500 for his insurance because he is on this.
